Scotland vs Serbia

Tomorrow’s start first round of Rugby League World Cup qualifiers. Six nations remain in the European arm of the 2021 Rugby League World Cup qualifiers and have been split into two groups of three. Group A is Ireland, Italy and Spain. Group B contains Scotland, Greece, Serbia.  The top two nations from each group will qualify for the sixteen team men’s tournament in England 2021.

Scotland have 5 domestic players. Callum Mclelland is the only uncapped player in the squad and is set to make his debut. Mclelland was a rising star in rugby league circles before he moved to Edinburgh as a young 17 year old to play rugby union and played for Scotland in the U20s World Cup. He returned back to play rugby league signing with Leeds Rhinos and was loaned out to Featherstone where he played most of the 2019 season. 3 players not selected from the original squad of 22 are Brandan Wilkinson (Doncaster), Oscar Thomas (Swinton Lions) and Joe Mclean (West Wales Raiders)

Serbia have 11 domestic players in squad. Stevan Stevanovic, known as the Serbian hulk, has been named as captain. Rajko Jankovic, a fulltime player with West Tigers is set to make his debut alongside Ben Stevanovic and a number of other players. Zane Bijorac from South Sydney Rabbitohs played for Serbia U19s last year and is set to make his full debut alonside Daniel Marjanovic from Sydney University. Nikola Srbljanin*, Dzavid Jasari* (Partizan Belgrade) and Predrag Keglic*, (Red Star Belgrade) are 3 players which not selected from the original squad of 22.

This game is not being streamed live however the RLEF will have a media lead at the game in James Vukmirovic.
